From time to time, I find myself slipping into serendipitous modes of self-reflection; which in turn allow for me to fully indulge in necessary moments of self-care.
One of my favorite ways to unwind, is by simply taking a bath…but not just any bath. I’m talking about one that pleases all of ones senses, and perhaps even aids in realigning out of balanced chakras.

Sometimes, I like to mix it up…

I’ll admit, once you slip on an Al Green record, you’ve transported yourself into an oasis fit for fulfillment. Oh and don’t talk about how silky smooth this concoction of goodness makes your skin feel…like butter, baby. Truly.
Even more so, after slathering on a decadent amount of homemade body butter.
This lusciousness consist of:
10 ounces of BALI VCO Virgin Coconut Oil
4 ounces of Aura Cacia Aromatherapy Sweet Almond Oil
2 ounces of Aura Cacia Aromatherapy Lavender Oil
Whipped to perfection. I like to store my batch in the fridge, which allows for it to last a little longer (4 to 6 weeks). Oh and it feels so refreshing to have the coolness of the butters meld into your skin upon contact. Especially on a hot summer day. Trust me.
Additionally, there are times that I find myself in need of meditation and in those moments, I simply go to my corner. To reflect and readjust my attitude towards the emotions I’ve encountered throughout the day…
Other times, I find myself being a tad cliché. However, taking time to “stop and smell the roses”, is necessary in these troubling times. Not only for the sake of indulging your sensory palate, but most importantly, for getting out amongst the natural wonders that surround us and breathe life into ours.
Even going as far as getting my hands truly dirty…
Then, there are times that I crave malty mounds of mother natures super foods, blended into a smoothie that makes your eyelids flutter and your toes curl…that is my testimony and I’m just hear to spread the word❣ Try whipping yourself up one or two…they pair well with a sultry summer day.
…and on rare occasions (like seven or eight thus far in my life) I might be found lounging on my deck. Trying to add a tad more color to my life.

Hopefully, these ever so simple self-care tips will aid you – the next time you find yourself deep in self-reflection.
Better yet, what are some of the things you practice during times such as these?
Leave me a comment. I’m looking forward to reviewing your magical moments of mindfulness.
