Back in June of this year I purchased my first ever deal on Groupon, and I must say I’m glad I did. Because, it was a rewarding and fun experience had by all. And by all, I mean my mother and I.

fullsizerenderWe woke up bright and early on the morning of December 10th, in order to grab a bite to eat and allow for enough time for our one hour drive down to Centralia. A quaint little town, which was founded by a remarkable Black man named George Washington in 1850.

Shortly after arriving, we hurriedly crossed the street and were dazzled by the array of vibrant colors that reflected the curvature & composition of the craftsmanship on display in the Glass Blowing Shop.

We were then quickly greeted by the knowledgeable & friendly staff, before being offered a tour of the workshop, that would enrapture our attention for the next two hours…

As you can see my lovely Mother got right down to business and impressed everyone with her skills in this bygone art form; of which she acquired by watching nearly every feature PBS has showcased on Dale Chihuly’s magnificent & awe inspiring creations.

It was a true delight to observe everyones abilities as well as marvel at the outcome of their one of a kind masterpieces…to be able to see everyone smile as they molded their liquid crystals into shape was a true treat.

Oh and you might be wondering what we made on that crisp Saturday morning…

If you find yourself wanting to treat someone close to you with a piece of handmade artwork that will capture the sunlight just right and bring a bit of color to their home for years to come, you might want to gift them & yourself to a class at Central Glass Works.

    1. That is utterly kind of you to say, Mick‚Ě£ As well, it was a true treat to have my Momma accompany me to that glassblowing workshop at Central Glass Works. Lastly, I’ll do my best to continue sharing content that conjures up all of what you’ve so thoughtfully expressed.
