I am aspiring to complete my graduate education in Italy all the while teaching; something that will allow for me to fulfill two of my many passions. As many of you know, I am passionate about life long learning as well as being of assistance to others by helping them to express themselves in this modern world where communication can empower & enlighten those we come into contact with through various means, especially in times of ever changing public opinions on societal norms.
With that said, I am humbled to say that I have been afforded the opportunity to study and obtain my Master’s in “World Heritage and Cultural Projects for Development”, jointly organized by the “Università di Torino‘s Department of Economics and Statistics “Cognetti de Martiis”, Interuniversity Department of Regional and Urban Studies and Planning – In collaboration with: Centro Internazionale di Formazione dell’Organizzazione Internazionale del Lavoro, the “Politecnico di Torino” and the International Training Centre of ILO (hereinafter called ITCILO), also in collaboration with the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and ICCROM, due to the fact of being accepted by the Master’s Scientific Committee.
It’s amazing how things are falling into place and THIS aligns perfectly with the (independently funded) project I was recently granted to work on with the Water Resources Research and Documentation Center (WARREDOC), UNESCO World Water Assessment Programme (WWAP) and Università per Stranieri di Perugia. Some of you are aware that I have been selected to produce digital maps and story maps of UNESCO natural & cultural heritage sites with the use of GIS technology and geospatial data. With that said, I have chosen to MAP the “Monumental Earthworks of Poverty Point and the System of Bayous (Bayou Maҫon & Bayou Bartholomew) that support this Land Formation”.
My long term goals are to obtain my doctorate degree in the areas of History & Civilization as well as have Bayou Bartholomew recognized as one of the natural UNESCO World Heritage sites. That being said, I strongly feel that this degree would fortify my initiative to court such a dream. A dream that I hope will one day enable me to work for an NGO or perhaps assist those in dire need across cultural borders as I have long been inspired by the beauty of this vast world we live in, including the people that willingly share of their cultures. Cultures that are just as amazing & rich as they are. I hope to capture much of this during my lifetime and I have come to appreciate even more over the course of my travels the ability to learn first hand about different cultures, and to engage with others in very meaningful ways.
With your donation (no matter how small) you can assist me in my endeavors along with my dreams of greatly enhancing my professional career.
Thanks in advance for your time, invaluable consideration and donation.
